Two Hot New Trailers: Mirror, Mirror and Brave

Two great movie trailers were released in the past day or so, and we’ve got them here for your viewing enjoyment!

First up is Mirror, Mirror, the Snow White-inspired film starring Julia Roberts as the evil queen, Sean Bean as the King, and Nathan Lane as the queen’s servant. With a similarly themed movie in the works, Snow White and the Huntsman, and shows like Grimm and Once Upon a Time, it seems like fairy tales are taking over as the next big thing.

Here’s the trailer:

It looks like it is going to be a really fun movie, very different from the other Snow White movie, which looks really dark (though also great, I’d say!). It will be interesting to see the evil queen with such humor, that’s for sure! What do you think? Which one seems to take the fairy tale cake, based on the the previews? (to see the other trailer, click here).

Mirror, Mirror releases on March 16th, 2012.

In a similar vein, Pixar’s next movie, Brave, is a dark fairy tale about a Scottish lass named Princess Merida who is fighting against tradition and making her own rules. Some of the vocal talent is provided by the likes of Emma Thompson, Robbie Coltrane, and Craig Ferguson.

Here’s IMDb’s description of the movie (which I think says something different than the impression the trailer gives): Determined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse.

Seems like a great movie, as Pixar films usually are. The trailer doesn’t really show any of the fantasy elements, other than the glowing blue fairy things, but I’ll be interested to see how the fantasy and the action/adventure tie together!

Brave hits theaters on June 22nd, 2012.
